Calgary's TransCanada Corp., whose application for a presidential permit to build the XL leg of its Keystone pipeline network was denied in November, has decided to deal with the American government according to an American maxim: when all else fails, sue. The company announced Wednesday that it will take a writedown of close to $3 billion on Keystone XL, and launched a dual litigation attack on the White House.
