There are a pair of anniversaries to mark today involving the late U.S. President Ronald Reagan and one concerning his wife, Nancy Reagan, who passed in 2016.  So, it was, on this date in 2016 that former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, a close friend of both Reagans, delivered one of the eulogies at the former First Lady’s funeral in California.  This is a remarkable honour for a Canadian leader to be asked – as Mr. Mulroney was in 2004 at President Reagan’s funeral – to participate this way in such an important memorial in the United States. And, it was also on this date in 1981 that President Reagan addressed Canada’s Parliament.  Six-years-later, in 1987, the 40^th President would again speak before Canada’s MPs and Senators meeting in Joint-Session. caption id="attachment_171363" align="aligncenter" width="510" President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan/caption Arthur Milnes is an accomplished public historian and award-winning journalist.  He was research assistant on The Rt.
