It is a particular personal pleasure to celebrate again on Art’s History another one of the spouses of our Prime Ministers. Today, of course, is the birthday of Mila Mulroney, wife of our 18^th Prime Minister, Brian Mulroney. For the nine years of Brian Mulroney’s time in office, Mrs. Mulroney represented Canada with grace and class and was indeed the rock of the Mulroney family. Her work with Cystic Fibrosis Canada, where she served as Honorary Chair, is just one of her many contributions to our nation. While serving with pride as the research assistant to Mr. Mulroney on his Memoirs, I had the very high honour of getting to know Mrs. Mulroney and consider this one of the great privileges of my career in the field of political history. Like all the spouses of our PMs dating back to Lady Macdonald, Mila Mulroney served Canada and Canadians and still does. Hon. Brian Mulroney’s best-selling Memoirs and also served as a speechwriter to then-Prime Minister Stephen Harper and as a Fellow of the Queen’s Centre for the Study of Democracy under the leadership of Tom Axworthy.  A resident of Kingston, Ontario, Milnes serves as the in-house historian at the 175 year-old Frontenac Club Hotel.
