After a massive show of force by hundreds (thousands?) of police officers drawn from across the country, the main protests in Ottawa have been cleared. There remain encampment sites outside the city, and it is not yet at all clear what law enforcement intends to do about those, if anything, but the main problems that the prime minister says required invoking the Emergencies Act have been solved. The capital is secure, the borders are not blockaded. What is the remaining emergency?
