Today in Canada’s Political History: Rt. Hon. Paul Martin “hanged” on Parliament Hill

As readers of Art’s History know, I love nothing better than the unveiling ceremonies held each time a portrait of one of our past Prime Ministers goes up. In our often toxic politics today, these are amongst the rarest of times when politics is put aside and the Parliament Hill community pauses its work and comes together to celebrate the public service of our past prime ministers and their families. On this date in 2016, it was time to honour Paul Martin – a former PM who I am proud to add has planted a ceremonial tree at my Kingston home.  Congratulations, again, Mr. Martin and thank you, from Art’s History and all my readers, for your service – and that of  your wife and entire family – to Canada.   caption id="attachment_618329" align="alignleft" width="299" Rt.
