Today in Canada's Political History - June 22, 1914: Robert Borden knighted

  • National Newswatch

Canada’s eighth Prime Minister, Robert L. Borden, received a very important honour from His Majesty King George V on this date in 1914. He was knighted after His Majesty’s decision to award him the Order of St. Michael and St. George. From this day forward our soon-to-be wartime leader would be known before history as Sir Robert Borden. He was the last Canadian Prime Minister to receive a Knighthood.
