Today in Canada's Political History - July 6, 2023: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau lobbies Taylor Swift!

  • National Newswatch

A year-ago today Canada’s Prime Minister had music sensation Taylor Swift on his mind. Justin Trudeau took to Twitter (or whatever the heck it is called these days) after Swift didn’t list any Canadian dates on her record-breaking Eras Tour. “It's me, hi,” he wrote. “I know places in Canada would love to have you. So, don't make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon." Whether it was because of Trudeau’s personal invitation or not (we’ll never know), Swift did in fact later add Canadian dates to her tour.
