Today in Canada's Political History - September 10, 2022: Pierre Poilievre wins the Conservative Party leadership!

  • National Newswatch

Anniversary best wishes are in order today on Art’s History as it was exactly two years ago that Pierre Poilievre was elected party leader by rank-and-file Canadian Conservatives. His was a convincing win on the first ballot with Poilievre, a veteran MP and former cabinet minister, earning almost 70 percent of the vote.

For more than a year, Poilievre and his party have enjoyed an impressive lead over Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Liberals. Many pundits and others see him as Canada’s next Prime Minister as the tireless efforts by him and his party continue.

Happy anniversary from Art’s History Mr. Poilievre!
