This week’s sample had slightly more CPC (52%) than Liberal watchers (47%)
83% of our watchers expect a Liberal victory, compared to 86% last week. 44% expect a Liberal majority, the highest number we’ve seen to date.
Most continue to see Liberals having the most momentum (68%), best candidates (80%) most effective leader (65%) and most impactful message (63%). Responses are a bit tighter on best ads, and Conservatives continue to be seen as having the best events. Leader and momentum ratings were slightly higher for the Conservatives this week.
By wide margins Mark Carney continues to be seen as more reassuring, likeable, knowledgeable and genuine than Pierre Poilievre. Poilievre has improved a little bit on “likeable” but the balance is still 69-15 in Carney’s favour.
Most think the debates did not affect Liberal support. A decent sized minority (44%) think Poilievre may have gained votes.
