Quebec’s 32nd Premier, François Legault, is celebrating his birthday today. He is turning 68. Premier since 2018, he has led his Coalition Avenir Québec to two majority victories. Legault, the co-founder of Air Transat, voters sent him to the National Assembly in 1998 and he went on to serve in PQ cabinets, holding the crucial Health and Education portfolios before stepping down in 2009. He re-entered politics in 2011 and helped found the CAQ. Happy birthday Mr. Premier.

Arthur Milnes is an accomplished public historian and award-winning journalist. He was research assistant on The Rt. Hon. Brian Mulroney’s best-selling Memoirs and also served as a speechwriter to then-Prime Minister Stephen Harper and as a Fellow of the Queen’s Centre for the Study of Democracy under the leadership of Tom Axworthy. A resident of Kingston, Ontario, Milnes serves as the in-house historian at the 175 year-old Frontenac Club Hotel.
