Today in Canada's Political History - June 5, 1939, Happy birthday Joe Clark!

  • National Newswatch

Canada’s 16th Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Joe Clark, is celebrating the 57th anniversary of his 29th birthday today. The youngest-ever PM in our history, he will always be remembered as the only Tory to ever defeat Pierre Trudeau, serving as a result in Canada’s highest political office in 1979-80.

I owe Mr. Clark a great deal as he has been a supporter of my work in the field of political history for more than 20 years. I am also proud to note that he planted his tree in my famous garden in 2011.

Happy birthday from Art’s History Mr. Clark!
