Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s popularity amongst Canadians was demonstrated yet again on this date in 1988 at Toronto’s Eaton Centre. Carter was there promoting sales of his latest book, An Outdoor Journal, which described the 39th President’s life-long passion for fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities. All told, Carter autographed approximately 700 copies of his new volume during his one-hour appearance in downtown Toronto.
