  • National Newswatch

The Right Honourable Arthur Meighen, Canada’s 9th Prime Minister, is celebrating his birthday in the great House of Commons in the sky today. Born near St. Marys, Ontario in 1874, he would go on to serve twice as Prime Minister, in 1920-21 and then again in 1926. Along with Sir Wilfrid Laurier, he is widely considered one of Canada’s greatest-ever Parliamentary performers after serving in both the Senate and Commons during his illustrious career.

Happy birthday Mr. Meighen!
