Newfoundland and Labrador’s former Liberal Premier is celebrating his birthday today. Andrew Furey, who held his province’s top political job from 2020 until his resignation earlier this year, is turning a milestone 50. An accomplished doctor, Premier Furey has been a leader in his province’s mental health field and is also known for his work as a doctor on the stricken island nation of Haiti. Happy birthday Mr. Furey and thank-you for public service.




Arthur Milnes is an accomplished public historian and award-winning journalist. He was research assistant on The Rt. Hon. Brian Mulroney’s best-selling Memoirs and also served as a speechwriter to then-Prime Minister Stephen Harper and as a Fellow of the Queen’s Centre for the Study of Democracy under the leadership of Tom Axworthy. A resident of Kingston, Ontario, Milnes serves as the in-house historian at the 175 year-old Frontenac Club Hotel.
