It is a great pleasure to send out birthday greetings to Stockwell Day who is turning a youthful 75. Born on this date in 1950 in Barrie, Ontario, he would go on to become a senior provincial cabinet minister under Premier Ralph Klein of Alberta and then entered federal politics, becoming leader of the Canadian Alliance. While his leadership was a rocky one, he remained on the federal scene after losing support of his caucus and the defeat of and his party in the 2000 general election, Day served with distinction in the cabinet of Prime Minister Stephen J. Harper. Happy 75h Mr. Day!
