Gentleman-Senator Michael Meighen was awarded an honorary degree by his alma mater, Montreal’s storied McGill University, on this date in 2012. Two-years later this distinguished public servant was appointed Chancellor of McGill.

Michael Meighen has been a long-time mentor and supporter of my work, and I owe him a great deal. It is therefore a great pleasure to mark this special anniversary of his on Art’s History.
