My city’s own Peter Milliken, the longest-serving MP in Kingston’s history, is celebrating his birthday today. He is turning a robust and hearty 79. Peter served a decade as Speaker, the longest any MP has held the post. A gentleman and master of parliamentary procedure and history, Milliken earned the respect of partisans of all parties and now enjoys a well-earned retirement. Happy birthday Mr. Speaker!
