Quebec Liberal Leader Charles Milliard says he won't reinstate Marwah Rizqy in his party's caucus.

Rizqy was elected as a Liberal and had been the party's parliamentary leader until last fall.

At the time, the party's former leader, Pablo Rodriguez, expelled Rizqy from caucus saying she had not consulted him before making a decision to fire her chief of staff.

Rizqy's expulsion kicked off a series of controversies that ended with Rodriguez resigning in December.

Her former chief of staff later launched a wrongful dismissal case in court.

Milliard says he wants all available information regarding the ongoing case and plans to follow developments in the coming weeks.

Milliard said he met with Rizqy twice in the day -- once in the morning and again shortly before holding a news conference.
