Alison Redford, who made history in 2011 when she became Alberta’s first female Premier, is celebrating her birthday today. Before entering provincial politics, she had served as an important advisor to Minister of Foreign Affairs Joe Clark. Later, she worked in the office of then Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.
