It was reflective Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who celebrated National Baseball Day on this date in 2017. He did so via a video message where he recalled the love of the game demonstrated by his grandfather, owner of the Montreal Royals in the 1930s, and the PM’s late father, Pierre Tudeau. In doing so Justin Trudeau also recalled his own youth and attending Montreal Expos games with his late father.
