One of the most important federal Grits of his generation, Ralph Goodale, is celebrating his 77th birthday today. First elected to the Commons in 1974, this proud son of Saskatchewan went on to serve in the cabinets of Jean Chrétien, Paul Martin and Justin Trudeau. He also served Canada well as the nation’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 2021 to 2025. I know all readers of Art’s History, whatever their partisan views, are wishing Mr. Goodale well on his special day.
