EDMONTON -- Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is facing another call for a leadership review from one of her United Conservative Party constituency boards.

Scott Cyr, a backbencher in Smith's caucus, says the board of his constituency association northeast of Edmonton passed the motion Monday.

It's a vote Cyr says he does not agree with, and he says it's time to rally behind Smith's leadership.

Cyr's riding of Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul is one of a few constituency associations that have recently called for a review of Smith's leadership while others have announced their support for her.

Smith is seeking to rein in separatist elements in her party ahead of next year's election.

Smith says the UCP is not a separatist party and that party members must stay united or risk the NDP forming government in 2027.
